Challenge topic: Describe a time in your life that you felt better about yourself than you ever had before.

Being a werewolf makes it quite difficult for a child to fit in. I knew this well by the time I arrived at Hogwarts, and I didn't quite expect to find many friends. From a young age I learned that I was not like everyone around me, and that this-- this beast I become knows no difference between friend or enemy. I didn't want to hurt anyone I cared about.

Meeting James, Sirius, Lily, and even Peter while I was in school was the best thing that could have happened to me. I still feared that I could hurt them if I wasn't careful, but they stood by me through everything. Even after they found out why I'd 'disappear' whenever there was a full moon they were still there, and best of all they understood. I didn't feel like an outsider anymore. I had friends who made me feel as if I finally fit in, and for the first time in many years I was able to feel better about myself. They were my salvation, I suppose you could say, at a very crucial time in my life.

The years I spent at Hogwarts are, to this day, thanks to them, some of the most wonderful years of my life.
