To say that Remus had been 'avoiding' Sirius would be... ...well it wouldn't be a lie, exactly. As much as everyone had been trying to convince him that what had happened with Leo and Sinclair couldn't have been prevented, Remus' emotions were working overtime. Guilt, anger, disappointment... It was all such a huge mix of emotions that it overwhelmed him.
As he walked the halls of the castle, however, he became well aware that he couldn't just keep avoiding him. He needed to speak with Sirius not just as the Deputy Headmaster of Hogwarts, and not even just as Leo's godfather; he needed to check on him and he also needed his best friend.
After his first two classes were over, he fetched an owl and sent a note that he had written while the students had been busy with their assignments.
